Unhealthy Status

Story The right to affordable and reasonable health care seems obvious to us. Also included is the ability to help your partner during illness. But the case of Layla Rannem from the village of Sumir, shows that this fundamental right is not available to all. In Israel there are about 20,000 Palestinians without any civil status, many of whom are Palestinian women married to Israeli citizens. The women are left without access to health and welfare services This issue is at the center of the conference, “Unhealthy Status" which probed possible remedies to this situation.
