Cutting Beit Safafa

Coverage
Imagine a six lane highway built through the heart of a residential area. A highway that separates your family and your neighbors, endangering children and impeding the freedom of movement. Sounds outrageous? These days the residents of Beit Safafa are conducting an ongoing struggle against the paving of Road 4, cutting through Beit Safafa in order to connect the settlements of Gush Etzion to the settlements north of Jerusalem. Residents protested the construction of the road, and appealed to the Jerusalem District Court, which rejected the demand to stop work, and, in turn, the residents intend to appeal to the High Court. The question is: Could a six-lane highway also cut through a Jewish neighborhood, for example? Language:
