Story
The struggle of the Bedouin shepherds' families from Khan al-Ahmar has become an international symbol, but the danger of expulsion and demolition still hangs over their heads. They were expelled in the 1950s for the first time and settled in their present location in the 1970s. When the authorities refused to connect the village to the infrastructure, the residents built residential buildings, a school and solar panels to produce electricity. In response, the state issued demolition orders and labeled them as invaders and building criminals. Attorney Lecker, who represents the residents, claims that the High Court is also involved in the violation of the residents' rights. Where the legal struggle failed, the residents of Khan al-Ahmar managed to freeze the demolition due to international pressure.
