Salvaging Food

Story Oct. 16 marks International Food Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of hunger and poverty. One disturbing, but lesser known area is the issue of food loss. Every year thousands of tons of fruit and vegetables are destroyed. On Friday, around 1500 volunteers showed up for picking duty, organized by “Leket Israel”, to rescue agricultural produce and to transfer it to the needy. Language:  Hebrew Subtitles:  English
