Story This week cultural organizations gathered in Habima Square to set up a “Campaign to Save Israeli Culture". The goal is to increase the cultural budget to one percent of the state budget, as in most European countries. But the following day, Mizrahi artists gathered and argued that the fraction of a percent budgeted today discriminates against them, and that 97% of subsidized culture in Israel on any given night goes to European and North American cultural events.
