She grew up in Tel Aviv to a Zionist family that admired Begin. Toward the age of 30 she began to have doubts about the fact that she did not know the Arab population living in Israel. In time and after acquaintance with Palestinian citizens of the state, she was exposed to another narrative, and was even surprised that the Arabs did not celebrate Independence Day ... With the familiarity came the insights and activities. Dafna served on the Sadaka-Reut board of directors and refrained from reaching the territories ("When I arrive in the territories, I am the lord of the land"). She joined the Ta'ayush movement when it was founded, and later on to MachsomWatch, and for the past decade has been active for the Palestinian shepherds' families in the Jordan Valley.
