The struggle in Rammya
Uploaded: 05/02/2014 Duration: 2:01 Minutes Available in Hebrew
Story
Rammya is a Bedouin village, "not recognized" established before the founding of the state and surrounded by Karmiel neighborhoods. Although the village lands are registered in the residents’ names in the Land Registry, they are not allowed to build on their land. On Monday, the Knesset's Interior Committee discussed this matter and called on the Israel Lands Authority and the Karmiel municipality to begin negotiations with the residents related to their continued residency there and to connect them to water and the electricity grid.
