In addition to reports of price increases in the economy, LATET published today (13/12/2018) the Alternative Poverty Report for 2018. The report, which has been published for the last 16 years, indicates much more severe poverty than the state does through the National Insurance Institute. In the report of LATET the number of poor stands at 2,345,000 – an addition of half a million people than the report of the National Insurance Institute found. LATET does not see the level of income as an exclusive parameter for determining who is poor (as defined by the National Insurance Institute), they examines the shortage of housing, health, education, the cost of living and food insecurity.
