Coverage
Al-Arakib is a Bedouin village founded in the Negev before the establishment of the State of Israel. Their attempts to work the land and create a little Garden of Eden were thwarted when the state authorities destroyed their crops and homes. On the morning of Tuesday, July 27, security forces arrived at Al Arakib. They were armed with demolition orders and accompanied by hundreds of police officers as well as bulldozers and demolition equipment. On Saturday July 31 the village was rebuilt with the support and help of Jewish Israelis who came from all over the country. Language:
