Story
May 17th marks the international day against homophobia, lesbophobia, transphobia and biphobia,an initiative started in 2005 and adopted by over 50 countries worldwide. In Israel we marked this day with a line of events around the country, and the main event was held at the LGBT Community Center in Tel Aviv.
Randy Harrison (Queer as Folk) arrived in Israel to promote the struggle against homophobia.
Harrison's visit, in the shadow of Obama's and Netanyahu's speeches and the anticipated UN declaration of a Palestinian state after 44 years of occupation,
brings up the question whether racism towards the LGBT community can be eradicated with aspirations towards equality, while avoiding taking a clear stand regarding to Israeli government policy. Language: Hebrew Subtitles: English
