Studio The number of refugees worldwide is at a record high since the end of World War II. This was published by the UN refugee agency on World Refugee Day, which is marked on June 20. A statement issued by Amnesty International says that the UN Security Council has failed "miserably" in maintaining international peace and security. In Israel, several events took place on “Refugee Day” including at the Holot Detention Center, In Tel Aviv, introductory meetings were held with asylum seekers at a number of bars,in order to introduce the audience to the reality of asylum seekers in Israel.
