Activists and students from Ben Gurion university planted trees in Beersheva this week to protest the government plan to establish "ten new communities" in the Negev estimated to cost $4.5 billion shekels.The activists dressed up as the Minister of Housing and the mayors of the largest cities in the Negev. They called upon the Beersheva’s mayor Ruvik Danilovich to join ministers such as Yael German and sign a petition calling to direct resources to develop and strengthen the infrastructure of existing cities of the Negev, such as Arad, Beersheva, Dimona, Kuseifa and Hura.
