Families Harvesting in Jayyous
Politics Uploaded: 30/10/2012 Duration: 2:14 Minutes Available in Hebrew
Story
The Olive harvest season has began. As every year, many Palestinian farmers are prevented of harvesting their olives, due to constraints arising from the need to obtain permits for crossing to the other side of the separation barrier, (where their lands are located), or due to repeated harassment by their neighbors - the settlers. One way or the other, the result is the same - olives are left on the trees, and the farmers suffer a severe economic damage. Just like before, a number of bodies, including the 'Coalition of the harvest' published this year a cry for help, and an extensive request from anyone who can come and help farmers harvest. Last Saturday - 6/10/2012, dozens of people gathered and assisted farmers in the village of Jayyous near Kfar Saba. Language:
